Osale.ee online campaign significantly increased participation in governmental direction. Managed and excuted by altex, supported by Riigikantselei, Velvet and Trinidad. Techniques used combined online surveys, Google Adwords, usability analysis, user testing, a “bloggers' event”, email marketing, website analytics, MSN chat ads, link building and “web design”. Results: • Number of visitors AND registered users both increased 400%; • Number of new ideas from citizens – tripled and quality went up too; • Nearly 2500 citizens completed the survey offering valuable feedback and suggestions to improve the site; • Over 1000 questions/commented submitted to the Prime Minister; • Interest in the citizen ideas section up 74%; • Traffic from Google up over 50%; • Time spent per user is up over 20%; • Cost of campaign 295,000 EEK + VAT.
